World Languages Codes

The codes you will see at the beginning of the title for every prayer are a combination of a Alpha-2 ISO (International Organization for Standardization) code for the language and a two-digit identification for the prayer.

This allows someone who does not speak the language to quickly differentiate between, for example, the Telugu-subtitled Short Obligatory Prayer (01), Blessed is the Spot (04), and Thy Name Is My Healing (05)—all three by Bahá’u’lláh and in the same language playlist—or to tell the difference between Chinese (ZH) and Japanese (JA) prayers in the same “O God Guide Me” playlist.

Below you will find the ISO codes for languages currently represented on the website.

The prayer IDs all correspond to prayers that have been localized and can be found on the website and YouTube channel. Most language playlists contain videos for the first five prayers, which constitute our “World Languages Treasury” and a few languages, with a strong review team in place, add further prayers to their playlists.
