I adjure Thee by Thy might, O my God! Let no harm beset me in times of tests, and in moments of heedlessness guide my steps aright through Thine inspiration. Thou art God, potent art Thou to do what Thou desirest. No one can withstand Thy Will or thwart Thy Purpose.
The Báb
« I adjure Thee by Thy might… » is a brief prayer by the Báb that was originally revealed in Arabic. It is an excerpt from a lengthy work of the Báb known as the Saḥífiy-i-Makhzúmíyyih, also called the Saḥífiy-i-Makhzúnih, “The Hidden Treasured Epistle.” Authorized English translations of several passages from this Tablet, including this one, have been published in Selections from the Writings of the Báb.
